The three pillars of Western Heritage Australia (WHA) are the
- sovereignty of the individual,
- sanctity of conscience, and the,
- sacredness of human life.
Press commentary of late on the so-called sovereign citizen movement make a few distinctions very necessary. Sovereign citizens are described as “kill-threat protestors” who have made violent threats to politicians and civic leaders during anti-vaccination mandate demonstrations. These, it is felt, could be a trigger for a lone-wolf terrorist – the unstable fanatic who hears the “call.”
For us, personal sovereignty is an affirmation of conscience, not convenience. Some laws are inconvenient but necessary, e.g. traffic regulations.
Also, the third pillar, “the sanctity of human life,” makes us natural opponents of terrorism or threats of terrorism. Terrorists are the enemies of freedom – particularly when in power; as proven by the history of the late “great” Soviet Union.
